Two film shoots, two countries, two capital cities.

It's quite a unique situation MWE currently finds itself in as it embarks on two new documentary feature films. This summer we were continuing production in Berlin, the capital city of Germany, for our project SEARCHING FOR POLA (working title). The documentary traces the story of a female filmmaker from Berlin in the 1920s. A few weeks later, we were filming our other documentary film in Washington D.C., the capital city of the United States of America. BECOMING TREK (working title) has taken on its own shape and form as we follow Hugo Award winning writer Morgan Gendel as he works on habitats for the Moon and Mars. His invention is so unique that it could potentially also solve the refugee crisis. Two very different documentaries. One that takes our CEO, Christina Rose, to her home countries in Germany as well as the US.

“It wasn’t really planned to shoot in two capital cities that also happen to be the two countries I am from but I certainly feel very, very lucky to be working on these right now,” says Christina. “They are very different. One deals about a woman who was the first woman to ever film in the Amazon forest. A lot of research has gone into this project and is still ongoing to uncover the story of this long-forgotten woman from Berlin. I have an amazing team in Berlin and Brazil who are spearheading the research. After our doc series EMPOWERED the topic of this story is certainly right up my alley. Then on the opposite spectrum is the BECOMING TREK documentary about a super intelligent person who basically has all odds stacked up again him. I truly cannot wait to share these two stories with a global audience."

Both SEARCHING FOR POLA and BECOMING TREK are at a very early stage in production but for any new updates, make sure to sign up and consider becoming a MWE member to access our content.
